With a huge surge in popularity of websites like Etsy.com and television shows like “Making It”, crafting has gone mainstream. At Manors of the Valley, crafting has always been a big part of our activities calendar and we have some very talented residents in our midst. We love changing up our crafts for an upcoming holiday or season. Mostly, we enjoy using our hands to make fun items to enjoy or gift to others. Crafting is great for the mind and we have a lot of exciting projects planned for 2020! Take a look at our latest gallery for some of our residents’ crafty creations and some other fun activities!

Once again, the Manors of the Valley residents are enjoying a day out on the town! Today’s fun was a lovely outing and lunch at the beautiful Lehigh Valley Hotel in Bethlehem, PA. Our residents enjoy their own luxury living back at the Manors, so an overnight stay was unnecessary. However, everyone took the time to enjoy the gorgeous dining room and delicious food. Sometimes we all need a day out and a relaxing meal in a new setting. Take a look at our latest gallery to get a taste of our day out!

On September 25th, 2019, Manors of the Valley opened its newest location, the beautiful Parkland Manor. Many proud members of the Manors family attended the Grand Opening event, along with local dignitaries, residents, and other guests. The exciting occasion marked another milestone for the Manors of the Valley as they continue to offer premier senior living in the Lehigh Valley.
We are always being fed the newest fitness trends to follow for a healthy life. The kinds of movement being promoted to us as we age are significantly different than what is pushed for the younger crowd, but the way you work out may not necessarily have to change much from what you were used to after all!
Let’s have a chat about the “good ole days”. Days were filled with crowded classroom activities, noisy team drills, family meals, movie dates, and sleepovers with friends spent whispering until 3 AM. Whether you prefer to be alone or are you thrive off a deep conversation, when we are younger, we are inevitably thrown into more social situations.
We’re always searching for new ways to improve our health and live a longer life. There are plenty of studies showing new diets to implement, exercises to try, and medications to incorporate into our daily lives. It sometimes gets a little overwhelming thinking about all the things we “should” be doing. But who would have thought that one of the ways to achieve this fuller life would be something as easy as simply being social? This is something we’ve done our whole lives and dare I say, it’s something we actually enjoy?!
Remember the days when we used to slay dragons, dance at the royal ball, or even raise a family of five with your best friend all from your backyard? As children, creativity seemed endless. There came a day though when we had to trade in our time machines and magic wands for due dates and business calls. That seems awfully sad, doesn’t it? Don’t fret just yet! Recent studies have shown that with aging, there is even more potential for creativity to foster and grow. What’s amazing is not only do we have enhanced creativity as we get older, but the benefits of this expressiveness become greater with age.
